Poor healthcare has left many with chronic conditions (diabetes, heart and lung diseases) and trauma. Refugees depend entirely on humanitarian intervention.
The camp has one small emergency medical center (5 GPs + 1 specialist), a basic pharmacy, and a donated CT scanner; all care is delivered through private donations.
Medication stocks are critically low in 2024 due to increased medicine costs and a lack of basic insurance. The health situation is rapidly worsening and care is under threat without new funding.
We estimate €55,000 per month is needed to cover basic medical services; full comprehensive care would require about €1833 per Day.
We are a charitable, non-denominational association, founded 2004 and registered in commercial register in canton Zurich.
Funding the camp’s sole medical center, staffed by volunteer doctors so that it provides daily primary care, diagnostics, and emergency treatment on-site.
Our responsibility, first and foremost, is to work towards saving human lives.
Welle’s mission is to promote human rights and freedom in Iran. We work to end torture and arbitrary executions, and to uphold universal rights.
